Hi, I’m Kat.

I’ve worked with Seattle families as a full-time nanny for more than a decade and am a certified postpartum doula with DONA International.

Postpartum doulas support new families in the home during the first three months after birth, a period often called the “fourth trimester.” From lactation and sleep support to diapering and development, doulas support family bonding and growth. Studies show that support in the home is related to superior outcomes in postpartum adjustment for all family members.

How it works

The first hours, weeks, and months at home with your newborn are a precious time of development and bonding … and they can be chaotic, overwhelming, beautiful, fun, and exhausting! As a night doula, I will be there for you and your baby during what are sometimes the most challenging hours—the ones where we’re all supposed to be asleep.

Postpartum doulas spend time in the home as an additional support person uniquely trained in the characteristics of neonates. My style is to complement your family’s gifts and help you become the parent you want to be. There’s no one right way to be a parent or raise children; we’ll collaborate to find and express your own way to nurture and grow your family. My goal is that at the end of our time together, you will feel confident and secure, ready to continue the lifelong adventure you’ve begun together.

All advice, support, and referrals are evidence-based, current, and (perhaps most importantly) guided by you.

Family Feedback

Candace T.

“Kat was invaluable and a tremendous resource. She was knowledgeable about newborn care, provided many helpful suggestions, and provided compassionate support to our family. I am so grateful for Kat’s time during postpartum and the newborn phase. She allowed my partner and I to get some rest and self-care, all while being supportive and helpful. It was such a relief to have a professional caregiver we could trust—it allowed us to relax while she was looking after our baby (not easy to do with a newborn). She also provided overnight support at such a perfect and much-needed time. I will be forever grateful to Kat as a first-time mom. She is an excellent doula!”

Elspeth V.

“Kat is knowledgeable, fantastic with babies, and she gives me breaks! I look forward to every single visit. She is a calm and competent presence of nurturing and guidance. She was a life raft when I was underwater with my little babies. Anyone who has the privilege of working with her will be better for it.”
